If you are like me and read the comments people leave for other people you will have noticed a message from my buddy Carl. The Navy has him out roaming around Europe for 6 months and unfortunately for him he gets to wonder around places like Spain, Naples, Rome, etc... Rough huh? I guess its not all glitz and glamour in the military. So to Carl, we all wish ya well, Happy New Year, hope you had a very Merry Christmas, we all miss ya, be safe and all that jazz.
So did anybody get to watch OK State get thumped on by THE Ohio State. 33-7, ha. As much as I wanted dominance by the Big 12 in the Bowl games I couldn't help but laugh at them Cowboys. Talk about a disappointment. There is no hope for them, unless they are playing OU. I will admit, it doesn't matter how good they when that Autumn day rolls around and Bedlam is in full swing anything can happen. But Ohio State, despite their off field problems pulled it together and showed that they are still big dogs. There is still some happiness in Big 12 land with Colorado's win over UTEP 33-28 or something really close like that.
There 4 wonderful bowl games today for you folks who care. The Continental Tire Bowl - Boston College vs. North Carolina. As of right now those Tar Heels are up 24-21. Looks like a good one. Emerald Bowl - New Mexico vs. Navy. My pick is those Midshipmen. Pacific Live Holiday Bowl - Texas Tech vs. California. Look for Cal to make a statement that they should have been in the BCS. Silicon Valley Bowl - Troy vs. Northern Illinois. Maybe that big ole lineman will get his hands on the ball like in the season opener and take it for 70+ yards again. So hopefully all you guys out there can check out these wonderful bowl games.
Just to let everyone know Chrisanna got a job this week! She is now a 1st grade teacher at McLoud Public Schools. I have had the fortunate task of helping her get her classroom in order. Its been kinda crazy, the teacher who left was not organized at all and there is stuff every where. But all in all its been great spending time with the wife and getting to see her in her element.
Only 5 days till the thrashing in South Florida.

HAWAII
So did ya take my advice and check out the Hawaii Bowl. It was a good one. I understand it was on Christmas Eve, but seriously who doesn't have free time on Christmas Eve. Well if you were as fortunate as I was, I was able to enjoy the festivities of the evening and watch the game. Boy am I glad I watched. Surprisingly UAB and Hawaii went lights out for 3 quarters. I was surprised to see UAB go toe to toe with those Rainbow Warriors of the South Pacific (I think thats right, I dunno). Well where ever Hawaii is, UAB ran out of gas and Hawaii put it on them 59-40. So everybody got to see that high powered offense of Hawaii. With Timmy Chang throwing up 405 yards and 4 TD's and running one in on the ground, Hawaii was unstopable. Just to add a little side note; Chang finished up his career with 17,072 yards passing, becoming the first player ever to break the 17,000 mark. Seriously think about that for a minute. 4 year career, 17,072 yards, thats 4,268 yards a year. Thats incredible!!!!!!!!
Talk about fun stuff UConn's first bowl trip was a hit. UConn upset Toledo 39-10. This is the season for upsets. I'm truely loving this. The bowl games are fun and are worth watching for all you scroges out there. So be sure to check out the Independence Bowl, Miami (Ohio) vs. Iowa State and the Insight Bowl with Notre Dame vs. Oregon State. A lot of 6-5 teams, except Miami, they walked away with 8 big victories.
My Sooners all arrived in Miami safe and sound today. With 8 days to prep they are looking like MANIMALS! Ready to go out and rip into some Trojan bait. I just can't wait.

Thus Eve of Christmas
Thats right folks, it is Christmas Eve. Presents are awaiting and Santa is a coming. My wife and I ventured out among the crazies this past Wednesday, to make the trip to the inlaws in big D. Yup, we were with all the other idiots who decided to travel on the worst day of the year so far. From Shawnee, OK to Davis, OK it took us a little over 3 hours. A trek that would normally take an Hour to and Hour and a Half. People are just plan stupid and it really shows on that one day a year when you have your first patch of bad weather. We saw countless wrecks, a few upside down and a whole lot of "how did they do that?" But a long 6 hours later we made it to Dallas in one piece. All four of us. Yes, I said four. We brought along our 2 dogs with us. They did really well, for never riding together before. The puppy we have did really well for her first long trip in a car. Tomorrow we will once again take that long strange trip to Oklahoma. We are heading back to see my family. We always have Christmas Dinner and all that jazz on Christmas Day. That trip should definetly be less stressful.
So I haven't been able to watch to many of the bowl games. I know, I know, they are pretty much meaningless if you don't care about either one of the teams. But, I guess I sympathize with these guys. This is what they work for all year. A Bowl game, who cares if its not a BCS game anyways. Especially the seniors, its a couple more weeks of getting to strap on those pads for probably the last time the rest of thier lives. For most teams its getting to take a trip to somewhere they have never been and possible never go again. Think about this for a moment: Marshal has ruled the Mid-Major teams and Cincinnati a Confrence USA team, known for their Basketball. Cincinnati goes out there and has a blast and wins the game. Same with Wyoming over UCLA. UCLA just couldn't match Wyomings intensity. And that shouldn't have mattered, UCLA should have had their way with them Cowboys. And I undterstand that that was last night and only last night all the other bowl games have went pretty much as expected. Bowling Green beating up on Memphis, Georgia Tech slaughtering Syracuse, Southern Miss. rolling over N. Texas. But last night made it all worth it. The underdogs prevailed. So if you're sitting around with family and want a little something to watch, with some real possibilities of excitement check out Hawaii and UAB today. Maybe UAB will pull that upset. But if not, you will have watched one of the best college offenses this year (Hawaii).
Only 11 days and counting till my Sooners masacre USC. I don't know if I have really expressed this to anyone, but I don't want that close game that goes down in history. I want that masacre that goes down in history. I just as rather we go out there and put a serious thumping on them and that Virginia Tech beats the snot out of Auburn. So everybody and their dog will get over OU being in the National Championship game. I don't know if anybody caught this from me earlier in my blogs but I think we should be playing Auburn, but whatever. Day of reckoning for USC is coming!!!!!!

Tired and Loving It
So it was a long semester and now its time to go into hibernation. Next semester is going to be worse. Spring semester sucks at OBU. Its a royal ass kicking if you take J-Term. Spring semester is crazy 6 or 7 weeks and then spring break and then another 6 or 7 weeks. If you take J-Term its 10 weeks before J-Term. So decisions, decisions. I may not even take J-Term. It would save my wife and me a good little chunk of change. But, I really need to get these classes out of the way. So, who knows? Stay tuned........

Sopranos, Sopranos
Thats right, I've started the second season of the Sopranos. I've got 2 episodes left and I'm in deep. I love this stuff. I could watch them all day long. The strip club motiff has layed off this season, but they are still there.
Well I survived the Anatomy final and probably didn't pull that A. It makes me wonder why I even tried. I could have winged it and kept that stupid B. And then I go and find out that I made a B in Health and P.E. for the Young Child. I love Dr. Mac, she is great. But sometimes I have no idea what is test material and what is not. And then she presents stuff totally different than it is worded on the tests. I mean I'm not gonna argue with the grade, I deserve what I got, but it would be nice to know what to study. So my only hope for an A this semester is in Exceptional Child. So stay tuned for that drama, I will throw an all out step child hissy fit if I don't make an A in that class!!!!!!!
I'm getting hit in all directions today. I was gonna take 2 J-Term classes and then I found out today that the 8 o'clock class was moved to 10. So now I am scheduled to take 2 classes at 10 o'clock and they were not even gonna tell me! I just happened to stumble across it when I was checking my grades. Hell, even the academic center didn't even know it had happened. So know I've got to decide what class I want to take and if I want to take something else. These were 2 classes that I seriously needed to get out of the way. Well I'm gonna get back to the Saprano's.

Thats right, tomorrow is the D-Day, so to speak. 8:00 AM, bright and early, here I come. Anatomy you are going down. So if you noticed I post regularly very early in the morning, usually around 4:30 am. But this morning I'm getting an early start so I can push through work and study right up until this test. So I wanted to get this out of the way, so I could consentrate on pulling that allusive A. I can do it, I hope. Anyways hope everyone has a wonderful day and whatever.

Daily Waste
So what ya think? I decided to give my blog a new look. A little sophisticated don't ya think. I know, I try. I'm watching the first season of The Sopranos. At first I wasn't to impressed, I couldn't figure out what was the big deal with this show. It took me about 6 episodes, but I'm officially hooked. Its really a well done show, I definitely get a kick out of it. One thing that sticks out to me and mainly because I'm a guy is that in every episode there is a scene in a strip club owned by one of the "guys." The funny thing is there are always three girls on stage and they are just standing there shifting their weight back and forth. Not that I'm a foremost expert on strip clubs, but isn't there some form of entertainment involved. Dancing and interaction with the crowd, something other than standing there. I get the point, you're staring at naked women. But I guess I really don't get it. That or the who ever is doing the show has never stepped foot in a strip club. Not that I have?
So I'm sitting here studying for this Anatomy test on Wednesday and I'm totally not into it. I don't know if its just bad study habits or what, but every fiber of my being does not want to study this. I'm not one of those people who can wing it, when we go over this stuff in class it doesn't stick. I'm not able to just retrieve it from memory if I try hard enough. I have to put some serious time and effort into it and even then I make a decent grade. You know a B or a C. I'm borderline A in that class, somehow.
So I'm going stir crazy waiting around for this National Championship. I'm so pumped to watch my boys kick the crap out of USC. Those guys are so worthless. I will give Pete Carroll and Norm Chow their props they have done some good things with some worthless players. Norm Chow has a young o-line and they got themselves a Heisman QB. OU's defensive line is going to eat those poor boys alive. Its kinda sad but I like.
Hey Poppa T! Good to see that somebody out there is checking out my blog. I appreciate any and all comments.
So for anybody that is enjoying my blog you need to check out my buddies zetataylor.blogspot.com. He might some something interesting everynow and then.

It Happened
so it happened. that fool Leinart won the Heisman. i knew he would, but still doesn't make it any easier. we had a chance at history. and those dumbass writers gave it to poor little usc and their girl quarterback. his numbers were worse and he didn't have to split time with a ligit heisman teammate. yeah bush was a finalist, but he was out of the race after week 5 or 6. he is just so good that they had to put him on their ballots. hell he is a better athlete than and more important to usc than leinart. without bush they would have lost at least 3 games, where he had game winning returns or unbelievable runs. games leinart would have lost!!!!! peterson would have been the 1st freshamn in history and white would have been only the 2nd person to win it twice. so now that i have vented about that i feel much better. and we are gonna kick some serious trojan ass in the orange bowl!
so i should be studing for a final tomorrow, even though i really don't want to.

Sooners Come In Strong
while i was at a graduation dinner for my lovely and intelligent wife, my boys came in strong at the awards tonight. i just got through watching the rerun of the awards ceremony and finishing up on a bunch of my anatomy work. thats right i'm pushing through and trying to get that almighty A. here is how the cards fell on the night of college football awards:
Bednarik Award (Best Defensive Player)
David Pollack - Georgia
Biletnikoff Award (Best Reciever)
Braylon Edwards - Michigan
Lou Groza Award (Best Placekicker)
Mike Nugent - Ohio State
Ray Guy Award (Top Punter)
Daniel Sepulveda - Baylor
Lombardi Award (Lineman of the Year)
David Pollack - Georgia
John Mackey Award (Top Tight End)
Heath Miller - Virginia
Maxwell Award (Outstanding Player of the Year)
Jason White - Oklahoma
Bronco Nagurski Award (Outstanding Defensive Player)
Derrick Johnson - Texas
Davey O'Brien Award (Outstanding QB)
Jason White - Oklahoma
Outland Trophy (best Interior Offensive or Defensive Lineman)
Jammal Brown - Oklahoma
Jim Thorpe Award (outstanding defensive back)
Carlos Rogers - Auburn
Doak Walker Award (Best Collegiate Running Back)
Cedric Benson - Texas
Walter Camp (Player of the Year)
Matt Leinart - USC
The Home Depot Coach of the Year Award
Urban Meyer- Utah
Disney's Wide World of Sports Spirit Award
Tim Frisby - South Carolina
NCFAA Contribution to College Football Award
Vince Dooley - Georgia
well there they are. with only the lombardi and heisman left to be decided, all we got is the bowl games. lombardi will be decided friday evening sometime and the heisman will be given out saturday night. my boys did pretty good, Jason White brought home the maxwell and the o'brien, and Jammal Brown grabed us the outland trophy. adrian Peterson was beat out by White for the Maxwell, by Cedrick Benson of Texas for the Doak Walker Award (which Benson deserved), and both him and White were beat out by that fool from USC Matt Leinart for the Walter Camp Award. There are some great stories behind some of the awards this year.
the past 14 of 19 winners of the Davey O'Brien Award has taken home the Heisman. but the past 4 straight has not. so Saturday we will see if Jason White can break this little curse. Urban Meyer won the home depot coach of the year after taking Utah (of all places) to an undefeated year and possible an historic trip to the fiesta bowl. with urban Meyer just accepting the Florida job and his teammates unanimously wanting him to coach them in their bowl game, it will definitely be a story to follow through the bowl game. the best story from the night was the disney world wide sports spirit award given to Tim frisby of south carolina. Tim frisby is a 49 year old walk on freshman wide receiver. frisby was recruited out of high school to "northern Tennessee" (or something crazy like that) to play basketball. frisby turned down the opportunity to play and decided to serve a 3 year term in the army that turned into a 20 year career. he went in as a private and came out a sergeant. frisby became an specialist in the elite army rangers. frisby had a dream and desire to play for the gamecocks that began 20-30 years ago. frisby is married and has 6 kids. so not only is he balancing college football, he's balancing a marriage, kids, a college load, and football. he has affectionately received the nickname "pops." pops, in my book, your number 1.
well i guess thats all i got tonight. i know these first couple of entries have been full of college football. well you can more of that and much more other great stuff.

The Heisman and Other Great Topics
nothing better than this time of year. college football is wrapping up and going into the bowls. but, before we get into the bowl games there is one important aspect to college football that must be taken care of - the awards! here is a shake down of them for ya:
Bednarik Award (Outstanding Defensive Player)
Erasmus James - DE Wisconsin
Derrick Johnson - LB Texas
David Pollack - DE Georgia
Biletnikoff Award (Outstanding Wide Receiver)
Braylon Edwards - Michigan
Dante Ridgeway - Ball State
Taylor Stubblefield - Purdue
Lou Groza Award (Kicker)
Tyler James - Boise State
Mike Nugent - Ohio State
Andrew Wellock - East. Michigan
Ray Guy (Punter)
Brandon Fields - Michigan State
Chris Klune - UCLA
Dantel Sepulveda - Baylor
Maxwell Award (Outstanding Player)
Matt Leinart - QB USC
Adrian Peterson - RB Oklahoma
Jason White - QB Oklahoma
Davey O'Brien Award (Quarterback)
Matt Leinart - USC
Alex Smith - Utah
Jason White - Oklahoma
Outland Trophy (Interior Lineman)
David Baas - Michigan
Alex Barron - FSU
Jammal Brown - Oklahoma
Jim Thorpe Award (Defensive Back)
Carlos Rogers - Auburn
Antrel Rolle - Miami
Ernest Shazor - Michigan
Doak Walker Award (Running Back)
J.J. Arrington - California
Cedrick Benson - Texas
Adrian Peterson - Oklahoma
Heisman Trophy (College Footballs Best Player)
Reggie Bush - USC
Matt Leinart - USC
Adrian Peterson - Oklahoma
Alex Smith - Utah
Jason White - Oklahoma
so thats it. the whole breakdown. all of these great awards will be decided and presented tomorrow night at 7 pm on ESPN, except for the grandaddy of them all the Heisman Trophy. it will be presented on saturday at 7 pm on ESPN. tonight the Bednarik Award was decided and the big winner was David Pollack of Georgia. so good for him.
the big question is who will win the heisman. obviously i'm parital to my sooners. i truely believe that its all jason whites. his numbers are overall better than matt leinart and alex smith, unfortunately plays for utah. adrian peterson looks like he might have a chance at it, but that whole he's still a freshman is kicking him in the rear. and reggie bush is probably the most amazing athlete out of all of them, but he hasn't been consistent the whole season and he has matt leinart who is taking all of the usc votes. but it looks like the man taking home the heisman will be leinart. from everything i'm hearing and seeing from all of those worthless press types, they are gonna sympathetically give it to leinart. ever since those fools at usc pissed and moaned that they should have been in the national championship last year all they have gotten is sympathy from everyone. there is no way in hell that the big 12 champion and the sec champion, that are both undefeated, shouldn't be playing for the national championship.
so now the bcs and all the great bcs games that we are going to wittness this season. here are the games and my predictions:
FedEx Orange Bowl
2 Oklahoma (12-0) vs. 1 USC (12-0)
(OU 31- USC 14)
Nokia Sugar Bowl
3 Auburn (12-0) vs. 9 Virginia Tech (10-2)
(AU 14 - VT 21)
Tostitos Fiesta Bowl
6 Utah (11-0) vs. 20 Pittsburgh (8-3)
(Utah 28 - Pitt. 7)
Rose Bowl
5 Texas (10-1) vs. 12 Michigan (9-2)
(UT 21 - UM 24)
so these are the games. a couple of great match ups. obviously ou and usc is going to be great. but that obvious. the rose bowl and fiesta bowl are both going to be worthy of a bcs bowl. in my opinion cal. can go suck an egg. i agree they got screwed, but texas got what they deserved. if anything stupid pitt. and their dang big east championship and their automatic bowl bid. i fill really sorry for utah. they are gonna be able to say "see, the mid-majors can come in and win against the big dogs." but they are playing pitt. seriously. i don't know if i can suffer through that game. my roomate is a utah fan, so maybe we'll see.
check this out - buy of the week
go to baylorbears.com and get your official "Gig This!" t-shirt from their ovetime shocker win against texas a&m. it says "gig this" on the front and "sic'em bears" with the 35-34 score on the back. i thought that was hilarious when i saw it and i just might have to pick one up myself. not that i'm a baylor fan nor do i hate a&m that much. its just hilarious.

the big question is who will win the heisman. obviously i'm parital to my sooners. i truely believe that its all jason whites. his numbers are overall better than matt leinart and alex smith, unfortunately plays for utah. adrian peterson looks like he might have a chance at it, but that whole he's still a freshman is kicking him in the rear. and reggie bush is probably the most amazing athlete out of all of them, but he hasn't been consistent the whole season and he has matt leinart who is taking all of the usc votes. but it looks like the man taking home the heisman will be leinart. from everything i'm hearing and seeing from all of those worthless press types, they are gonna sympathetically give it to leinart. ever since those fools at usc pissed and moaned that they should have been in the national championship last year all they have gotten is sympathy from everyone. there is no way in hell that the big 12 champion and the sec champion, that are both undefeated, shouldn't be playing for the national championship.
so now the bcs and all the great bcs games that we are going to wittness this season. here are the games and my predictions:

This is My Time!!!
Thats right, this is my time!!! Nobody can take it from me. Well, I guess who ever runs this site could just jerk it out from under me. But, besides whoever that is, NO ONE can touch me!!! OK, so I've never had a blog before and I have no clue what to write. So all kidding aside, I figured this was the way to do it. To save the world. OK, so there I go again with joking. I work nights and I figured I could find some time to post a few of my thougths, you know, "The Life and Times of the Loondaddy."
So tonight I'm just chillin at work and watching some movies. I should be studing for a killer cat muscle test on Thursday. But, seriously who studies. I mean come on, how long have I been here? 5 years or so, that aint so bad. Is it?
I picked up Dawn of the Dead, Soul Plane, and Eternal Sunshine. Dawn of the Dead wasn't to bad. I don't really know what caused me to rent it. I remember seeing the previews and just looked cool. I'm not really a Horror movie kind of guy, but it wasn't to bad. I needed something funny to watch after that so I picked up Soul Plane. So far its been pretty funny. You know good old toilet humor. I'm really looking forward to Eternal Sunshine. I was gonna pick up the first season of the Sapranos, but they didn't have the third disk and I was in a hurry. So I'm gonna make sure they at least still have the DVD so I will be able to see it all.
I guess thats all for tonight. Remeber-
